The Dandelion is a beautiful image of self-esteem. The bud is about to bloom. It does not yet know how unwanted it will be, as it spreads it’s petals in the wrong part of the world. It only knows that deep inside, it is beautiful.
Children are the same. They’re born with what is known as a ‘yes’ set, believing they can do anything. Parents are the ones who change that yes, I can into no, you can’t.
This picture was painted many years ago using the maxim children are not to be molded but, rather, like flowers to be unfolded. You can teach a child to become successful by reminding them constantly how beautiful they are. This painting does exactly that.
